Position Summary

Designs and documents electro-mechanical systems which meet project goals. Works in a team environment with all disciplines of Engineering and Manufacturing. Coordinates priorities and resources with Engineering Services Manager.
Requirements

  • Education including a BSME or related field;
  • 0-2 years experience in Mechanical Design;  
  • Computer skills/languages:  Working knowledge of 3D CAD (i.e. Solidworks), Analysis Software (i.e. Cosmos and Ansys) a plus and general business software (i.e. Microsoft Office) a must;
  • Demonstrates competency in designing electro-mechanical systems with regards to design rule conventions, environmental considerations, performance requirements, thermal dissipation, produce ability, etc;
  • Completes electro-mechanical packaging of digital and RF modules using machined, cast, or Injection Molded blocks and Chassis as well as sheet metal components. Supports design projects from Startup to release and throughout the production life cycle;
  • Selects and interprets design data based on intention of design, system function, quality requirements and manufacturability.  Works closely with Digital, RF and PCB Designers;
  • Supports Product Testing and Certification;
  • Involved in providing estimates regarding design feasibility and required resources for proposed projects;
  • Supports Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Purchasing by providing technical assistance to PR, ECN, and MRB activities related to mechanical parts and assemblies;
  • Supports product development by creating and evaluating design documentation, assuring prototype inspections are conducted, errors and discrepancies are reported, corrected and prevented;
  • Demonstrates skills in complex interpersonal communication and technical writing;
  • Must demonstrate proficient communication abilities in English;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required (U.S. Person Status per ITAR Regulations).
